The Structural Engineering Department
Established at the institute in 1960, the Structural Engineering department specializes in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, providing foundational courses in Strength of Materials and Engineering Mechanics for all students at the institute. At the postgraduate level, it offers Civil Engineering programs with a focus on Structural Engineering. Renowned for its strong industry ties, the department excels at delivering extensive consultancy services. It is located at the northern and southern sections of the main building, serving as a hub for engineering innovation.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
- To work in design consulting organization for design of civil engineering structures.
- To excel in professional career by acquiring state of art technical, computational and research skills.
Program Outcomes (POs)
- An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
- Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
- An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
- Understand the impact of the engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge and need for sustainable development.
